Mary and Elena – Whitwell Hall

Whitwell Hall has been the best trip so far with our year.  First we got introduced to Paula and Joh.  After, they showed us to our dorms/bedrooms.  After that, we practised the fire drill.  Then, we had our lunch.  Later on, we did our first activity orienteering.

River dipping

We caught a beetle and

Water boatman.

Mary and Elena did the Whitwell water river dipping challenge.

Dessert

We had a choice of desserts but ice cream cone with a flake was the best.

Whitwell Hall – Olivia P, Lucy and Clodagh

Whitwell Hall is an amazing place to stay.

Activities

We did shelter building we used: rope, a plastic cover and wood that we had to find our selves. When we were finished they were put to the test by pouring water over them. Then we did Orienteering where we wondered around the grounds to find the little stamps.

We also did, river dipping in the River Blackwater and if you’re lucky you might catch a large crayfish and there is a fun challenge at the end when you have to jump in the river, sit down, lay down, roll three times and lastly do three press ups and the rest were: nature art, bracelet making, boat building and boat racing, bat walking, bonfire, fire lighting just to name a few!

The Hall

Do you want a nice place to stay? Well you’re in the right place because the dorms are lovely. Big dorms that fit 15-16 people in. Small dorms that fit 8 people in. An even smaller dorm that fit 3-4 people in. Don’t even get me started on Paula’s food it’s AMAZING for breakfast you get a choice of yummy cereal followed by some toast .For lunch you get a sandwich a bag of crisps, a drink and a little dessert. For dinner you get a choice of lasagne, pasta, meatballs, and fish fingers that’s just some of them.

Wildlife

Do you want to see incredible wildlife? Then go outside and explore the Whitwell grounds. They have AMAZING wildlife such as: fox, badgers, deer, bats, birds, and sheep. In the river you can find: crayfish, small fish and water spiders.

Whitwell (Maks and Geol)

 Whitwell Hall

Hello, Whitwell is a lovely place your time in nature. They will do many activities which you will like…

Campfire, River dipping, Boat racing, Fire lighting and many more. Trust me there will never want to leave again because it is way too much fun. My favourite was the boat racing, because you will see your boat race down the river Blackwater like sailfish (the fastest fish in the sea).

It will be totally worth of your time. The food is incredible. It felt like I was a chef trying out food that I made. My and Maks’ favourites were  hamburgers and hotdogs and it was great. If you are a judge then come to taste the delicious food.

Whitwell will make your life even more fun than it was before, it will blow your mind. My rank would be 100%

whitwell Hall Zofia and Isla

In Whitwell we enjoyed the Riverdipping because we found lots of shrimps and cray fish!  We also liked making the bracelets because there are lots of pretty colours to choose from,  Also there is a tuck shop which has loads of goodies such as chocolate , notebooks, pencils , drinks and even a torch keyring.

At Whitwell there was a lot of AMAZING food.  We had lasagne and meatballs and even a whole BBQ.  The desserts at Whitwell were so delicious.  We had apple crumble with custard nnd ice cream with a bowl of fruit!

Whitwell’s bedrooms are very comfy and the rooms are very spacious

The equipment which the activities involve is:

1.  Fire lighting involves a steel cotton wool.

2.  River dipping involves a net a bucket and a spoon and a sheet with all the creatures you can find.

3.  shelter building involved tarpoolin and a bucket with water.

4.  Boat building involved Hammers and nails.

In the evenings  we went on a bat walk and we got to use bat detectors which communicates to the bats by echolocation  (it was so much fun.)

Olivia S and Leighla Whitwell Hall

Whitwell Hall is an awesome place to visit if you love adventures and nature. When I went to Whitwell it was an amazing experience and super spectacular! If you want a break from life, don’t waste a second and go straight to Whitwell Hall.

What we enjoyed :

We enjoyed all the activities but our favourites were nature art, boat building, bracelet making and fire lighting. We also enjoyed the food – it was the best! I loved the cheesy lasagne BUT WE ALSO LOVED THE SHOP AT THE END! ALSO THE NUMBER GAME!

What activities did we did:

*Den building

* Tracking/Orienting

*river dipping/challenge

*fire lighting

*bracelet making

*boat building/boat racing

*bat walk

And more! In den building you can test your tactics in the wild and also test your building skills. When we did tracking and orienteering, we had to find little tiles with red and white on each corner (which were hidden everywhere) the food.

You should try the food because is fantastic! They had lasagne, meatballs and BBQ and for breakfast we had toast and a myriad of cereals. The delicious deserts were a delicacy and the dinner was the best food I’ve ever had!

ROSHANA and OLIVIA A Whitwell

Whitwell Hall is the best school trip you will be on.  When you first go you will get introduced to the leaders.

You will do a lot of activities trust me you will love them they are den building, bat walking, boat building with boat racing, bracelet making, river dipping and fire lighting .The food that they serve is delicious and you even get to choose what you eat.

My/Olivia’s favourite part is

That when we first got there we chose our beds and explored all of Whitwell. The very next morning we got cereal, Weetabix cornflakes and rice Krispies and when you’re done you get to eat your toast with jam, marmite and butter.

My/Roshana’s favourite part is

The campfire because we sing iconic campfire songs and eat toasty marshmallows.  I loved it so much I wish I could go again.

Enjoy, explore and experience!
