Year 3 – ‘The Firebird’.

Year 3 have started some work on the story of ‘The Firebird’.  Here are some pictures and sentences about what they have done so far.

The firebird has fiery feathers on its tail.   It is as glorious as the sun.  Firebirds like to peck gleaming   golden apples and brown acorns.

Eva   and    Kaja

It’s wings  were  ginormous ,  it’s   feathers  like   fire ,  it   stole a gold   apple  and   it  sung  like  a  quoi r .

Esther and   Clara

The fire bird is a bird but not just any bird. A bird with fire on its wings but the fire bird is a thief.  Every night he steals a gold apple from the King’s castle but fear not- Prince Ivan will save the day but he is a bit stuck. But Prince Ivan will catch the fire bird.

Ferdie

Fire bird story so far…     Ivan has to go the way were the horse dies and  Prince Dmitri and Vasilli have failed and went back.

Firebird story so far …

It started when Miss Self received a golden apple with a note, so, as anyone would, we started investigating. We came up with some questions and here’s one.  ”Are you real, Firebird?”  A few days later, we had THREE PAGES of writing!  The king had been angry because a FIREBIRD was stealing his golden apples! When his 2 brothers failed to catch it, Ivan went out. He started to catch it, but it escaped! We have been posing as Ivan and writing letters to the king, and had no reply! Firebird update complete!

Greetings we have a golden apple.

Finley and Benas

I think that fire bird is  being greedy because he is poor.

Since Fire Bird visited we discovered that unusual things were happening

Like on Monday morning two of are classmates found a glorious golden apple on the Prayer table. We all sprinted to the prayer table to see what had happened.

Nathalie /Leanne

Fire bird is very interesting because I think it’s very mysterious and a little bit scary. I hope Fire bird doesn’t get shot.

OLIVER and EDWARD.

One Monday  morning  Miss Self  found  a  GOLDEN apple  on the prayer  table.  Miss Self asked if anyone  had painted  the apple  everyone said no.   Suddenly Ellen found  a letter.

One Monday morning we discovered that our little seedling had died.

We found a  letter  and an  apple.

One Monday morning Kaja and Tiana found a golden apple on the prayer table .

Lola and  Aurelia

One Monday morning, Miss Self found golden feathers scattered around the field and a letter saying Fire B. The next day Miss Self found a golden apple in their class room. Also there was a stack of papers that were sent to the office and they were about 3 princes, a king and a firebird.

Samantha and Ayda

So in year three we  got letters  [from fire  B]  and   Ivan    tried  to  capture   the   fire  bird.

The fire bird steals golden   apples   from   the  king,   Prince  Ivan`s dad.  The fire bird eats too many apples a day.

Joseph and Charlie

The fire bird stole apples from the tree in the kingdom.

Bradley and Joel.

The FireBird has robbed some gold apples from the King..

Soon the king will shoot the FireBird.

Grace and Blake

The firebird (Fire .B) is a gold bird with a tail that looks like a  thousand sparklers  ,massive  wings and we want to   know what it looks like ! Also we have had letters from her which mention someone called Prince Ivan ! Then the other class arrived with a letter from Prince Ivan ! Cool.

There is a firebird what is   sending letters.

Kuba

Two weeks ago Mr. Brackenbury told us something very surprising. The other class had got  very important news. There stood an apple tree what grew golden apples by a palace.  A fire bird comes here evry night and steels an apple from the tree. The king ordered      if  you find  the fire bird you will get half   my kingdom.

Grace and Julia

What I know about the fire Bird is that she had stolen 5 golden Apples from the big Tree.

Year 3 International Day!

Year 3 had an International Day on Monday 20th February, to celebrate the fact that pupils from many different countries come to our school.

There were various activities throughout the day, including dancing and food tasting and children could dress in National costumes.  It was certainly a very colourful day and great fun!  Many parents helped or came too, thank you.

Here are some comments about the day from Year 3 children.

Year 3 Exciting events!

Year 3 have clearly been busy since the beginning of term with their work, but also special events.  They have been to the Castle Museum, the Synagogue and had some Archery lessons, as well as being visited by Father David Paul to talk about Baptism.  Four of our school bloggers talked about their visits.
