Our Ullswater Experience by Roysen and Matteo

Ullswater Trip

Ullswater is a lovely place to go and see the nice landscapes, climb mountains and much more! In the Outward Bound Center, there are really nice instructors that you would love to meet be in their group. I would really recommend Ullswater to the whole school and that you should not be scared to go.

Activities

We had a lot of activities In Ullswater including climbing a mountain, jog and dip, gorge walking and a lot more. My favourite activities were jog and dip, gorge walking, lake adventure and a couple more.

Facilites

The facilities were really amazing.at breakfast and dinner you would eat in a wide cafeteria which was 2 rooms. The bedrooms are also good, they have two showers, one toilet and a wide room with three bunkbeds.

Food

The food here is very delicious and scrumptious. For breakfast we basically ate a English breakfast. For lunch we ate some sandwiches, crisps, brownies and flapjacks. For dinner you have a variety of different meals like potatoes, rice, pizza and more. After that we would have Hot chocolate and digestive biscuits.

Our Lake District Blog – George and Thomas

Our blog about the amazing Lake District

By Thomas and George

It took us about 7 hours to get to the Outward Bound Centre by coach.

When we got there we had time to go to our rooms and sort out everything.

After that, we went down to the lounge and got into groups of 11.

Later, we had a tour and then did jog and dip which is basically jogging towards the lake and then running and jumping into it.

Afterwards, we went to have a warm shower then we had free time in our rooms and then had dinner. Dinner was amazing as we had 4 different options to choose from (including a vegetarian option).

Later we had an evening activity which then took us to having hot chocolate while writing our journals.

Every day we did the same routine but we had breakfast in the morning and really different activities.

We did mountain climbing, tunnelling, canoeing and gorge walking (climbing up a waterfall). They were all extremely fun and the instructors were really funny and kind. It was a once in a life time experience, if you got a chance to go don’t think about not going. You will not regret going!

Lake District

An Ullswater blog

By Crisha & Angelica

At the start of the week, on the 4th November 2019, most of Year 6 were treated to a trip to Ullswater and we had the most memorable trip that we could ever have!

Although the journey took forever (to be precise, it took 7 hours), when we arrived, we were on our way to our first activity, which was held by our aMaZiNg instructors, and the activity was Jog & Dip. It was EXTREMELY COLD  but it was still fun to experience (it was also funny because one of us forgot to bring a swimsuit ^o^).

The Jog & Dip was definitely one of our personal favourite activities because it was fun to be in cold water as it was one of the only activities where we could be in water.

In the evening, we got to drink and eat hot chocolate, biscuits and cake while we had to fill in our evening journals.

Overall, we both loved the experience; the instructors were the best; the food was delicious; the activities were fun; and the whole trip was FANTASTIC!! We would definitely go again!!

The Lake District By Henry R.

The Lake District

It took us 7 hours to get to the Lake District by coach but it was worth the wait as when we got there it was amazing.  We did jog and dip which is where we jump into the freezing cold lake called Ullswater and then we had dinner and filled in our journal.  The next day we had breakfast then we climbed a mountain called Glen Ridding Dod and the view was magnificent and that night we did some orienteering in the dark and then had some dinner and filled in our journal.  The next day we woke up and had some breakfast and then we went George walking which was hard because the water was freezing and climbing up a waterfall is not the easiest thing to do anyway then we went into the dark tunnels.  After that we had dinner and filled in our journals.  The next day we went rowing over the lake to the other centre and when there we lit fires and made hot chocolate then we went back. That night we went night lining and had dinner then we filled in our journals. The next day, our last day we went canoeing and then packed up our stuff and left.

The Lake District 2018 by Niamh & Chika 6W

The Lake District Blog

By Niamh and Chika 6W

The Lake District is a trip of a lifetime where you’ll face challenges but you can get through them by teamwork, support P.E.T, perseverance and S.N.O.T which you’ll learn when you arrive. On this trip you’ll learn so much about what you’re capable of and the others in your group. In my opinion this is a trip you cannot miss because you’ll enjoy being out of school for a WHOLE week! It’s the best experience ever! This trip is memorable and an exciting beginning  to Year 6 with your class. Don’t be uneasy/ scared it’s an adventure of a lifetime. Don’t forget to book it!

The Lake District by Edward and Reggie

The Lake District

Reggie and I were in different groups but we still had so much fun. On the first day we all did jog and dip into the freezing cold lake (Ullswater.) on the second day Reggie went gorge walking while I climb a huge mountain! Next I got soaked wet and Reggie got really tiered because I went gorge walking and Reg climbed a different mountain. On the last day we all did really exiting activities I did wet canoeing (I guess you know why it’s called wet canoeing) and Reg went on a FREZZING cold walk in the lake!

An Amazing Blog Of The Lake District By Maya

On the 19th November 2018, nearly all the Year 6 class went to the Ullswater centre.  Once we had arrived, we didn’t think that the view would be amazing, nor the centre.  Already everyone had a good first impression, and a feeling that this was going to be the best experience ever.

On the first day (Monday), in the morning the Year 6s got to school at 4:30pm (in the morningL!). Everyone was extremely tired from waking up so early.  Once everyone came to school we departed in a super double-decker coach.  Unfortunately, it had broken heating, which meant it was boiling hot.

At the end of this superb experience, we all learnt something about ourselves that we never knew: we did things we never expected ourselves to do. Many people didn’t want to jump into the lake (especially me), but I noticed that when I jumped in my friend did too; it’s like they would only do it if their friend did it. She didn’t tell me that, but I think she did it because I did it. It was a once in a lifetime experience like no other, it was where we all had fun and experienced something we wouldn’t have seen at school.

My trip 2 Lake District By Henry and Daniel. PLEASE READ THIS!

When we got there, we were feeling quite nervous for the activities later that day, but we overcame our fears.  The journey was incredibly long: it was in Cumbria where we got to express ourselves and interact with nature through encounters with the wildlife.  Here are some activities we participated in: canoeing, which used a lot of energy because we had to row for a long time; gorge walking, which was incredibly enjoyable as we would always have some water in our boots, and the last one was when we climbed a steep mountain with the immense pressure of the wind, and when we got to where we got to, it was very rewarding, because when you had a look down it was very far down (if you are scared of heights, then don’t, obviously).  All in all it was an absolutely sensational trip and I would definitely recommend it to others and its so fun!  Hope you are bribed over this amazing review. It is clearly stated above.
