Whitwell Hall by Lily and Olivia!!!

Whitwell Hall LILY  & OLIVIA 5B !!!

Activities:

Our favourite activity was fire lighting because we got to make it by ourselves in groups, it was fun and we acted like it was camping.  First we collected sticks in sizes of thumb, index, pinky and pencil.  Then we got flint and steel and lit a cotton pad adding one sticks to it.  We also put a conker into our fire so it exploded.

Dinners:

Our favourite was the  BBQ because we got burgers and hot dogs also salad. Also we were stuffed. We also loved it because it was the last day having dinner and the best meal.

Desserts:

Our favourite desert was ice cream with a flake on a cone because we didn’t like the fruit salad with ice cream or the apple crumble. Also we had it one the day we had our favourite meal.

Dorms:

The Dorms were probably the 2nd best because we all loved Dorm time because we were a bit cheeky! Also we stayed up almost all night in our dormitories.

We recommend you  to come! Book now to come to Whitwell Hall.

Whitwell Hall by Matilda S and Cassandra

Hi!  It’s Matilda & Cassandra here reporting about Whitwell Hall after our residential there.

Personally, and I think Cassandra will agree, it was epic and we all had a great time there as well.  When we got, there we put our luggage in the games room and  had a talk about safety and we practised the fire drill twice.

Once we had done that, we took our luggage upstairs into our dorms and sorted the shoes out.  Then we ate our lunch and had a run around.

Then we started the first activity.  We did Orienteering in which we had to read a map to find our way around the site.

After that, we did shelter building and our shelter wasn’t very successful and I got very wet however Cassandra stayed very dry!

When we had tidied up, we went inside and had dinner.  Once we had eaten, Mrs.  Bailey & Mrs.  Wakefield announced we were having a Year 5 Talent show and we had one hour to prepare.

After one hour, the talent show started!  Probably the best one was how some of our classmates acted out how Mary got chased by a sheep!  (A thing that actually happened!) After that, it was finally time for bed.

Matilda’s favourite activity was the pioneering (catapult making) & Cassandra’s favourite activity was fire lighting.

We really enjoyed going to Whitwell and would really recommend it for a great trip out!

At Whitwell Hall there are a lot of fun activities.

Examples:

River dipping (you could catch a lobster).

Den building (pours water on your den to test if its waterproof).

Fire lighting (you have to light a fire using a flint and steel).

Whitwell Hall has gifts like torches, keyrings, chocolate, notebooks, pencils and sweets.

At Whitwell Hall, there are very comfy beds.

It was amazing at Whitwell, there were sheep (their wool was like clouds), I was feeling shocked when I saw it.

Activities:

  1. Scavenger hunt.
  2. Fire lighting
  3. River dipping.
  4. Shelter building.
  5. Bracelet making.
  6. And other fun activities what you will find out (if you go to Whitwell Hall).

Whitwell Hall By Jacob.G

It took us approximately 28 Minutes to get there.   When we arrived we all took the luggage out of the coach and then we put the luggage inside and we sat then down on the shiny floorboards then we went upstairs and took our luggage my dorm number was N#2.

People like me everyone had a suitcase.

My favourite activities were shelter building and fire lighting.   In shelter building the water was freezing cold!

And in fire lighting, our fire was dying, then living dying, living and the fire did that 5 times! Which was quite annoying. For lunch I had 2 tuna sandwiches, salt and vinegar crisps and blackcurrant squash and fun.

Then we did Orienteering which we had a sheet of paper and we had to find these stamps and my group got 9/10 which was very good. After we were going to do shelter building and I saw Ben soaked going to change so that made me very excited when it was my turn. it was my shelter’s turn to try to survive. I got half wet then we went back in to change. After we changed, Mrs Wakefield & Mrs Bailey announced that were having a talent show!  We had 1Hr to prepare.  So we put our pyjamas on and the winners would get biscuits.  I decided not to take part in the show and the most hideous part of the show was Mary getting chased by a sheep (which actually happened). After the talent show we read 10mins of ‘Goldfish boy’ then we finally went to bed.  I was very tired and had a good night’s sleep :).

Are you bored with life at home? Do you want to go outside, just not in your garden?

Make a beeline to the nature palace also known as Whitwell Hall! Don’t do it well, do it Whitwell! Come and step into a world full of fun! Meander in our meadows, be riveted by river dipping and have fun fire lighting! There’s a lot of other things  to check out, too. Come & have game at the large football pitch, or have a ball playing stuck in the mud round the tent field! Create amazing sculptures out of the wildlife around you (I’d suggest that you’d make your friend lie down, space out the area & do patterns around him/her!) and orienteer around the campsite.

Claim your bunk bed in your room and snuggle in at night!

Love the high seas?  We’ve got boat racing!  Colour your ship and name it, avast ye hearties!

When you’re done with the fun, Paula the chef will come round with a delicious dinner for your break! Truly Whitwell Hall is an amazing place. Come round as soon as you can!

Whitwell Hall (By Tabatha)

Going to Whitwell Hall was an amazing experience. It was so cool being around so much nature and wildlife .

One of my favourite activities was Fire Lighting ! It was so cool to light your own fire with a flint and steel and watch it burn while you add sticks.   Later that day, we experienced a magical campfire and toasted marshmallows as we sang songs  merrily. We also made catapults out of bamboo which was really cool.

Another activity  was tracking. In tracking, we had to follow the stick signs to find our way!

The activities that we got the wettest in were den building and river dipping. In den building, we had to make our own shelters out of rope and fabric and then Steve poured water on it while we were in it to see if it was water proof. I didn’t get very wet at all . In River Dipping , a large crayfish was caught!

One of the evening activities was a bat walk in the dark! We used bat detectors  to find Pipistrelles when we were walking around!

Paula always pleased us with her fresh meals – even the picky eaters!

At bedtimes we had proper bunk beds to put our sleeping bags on !

I would definitely come back to Whitwell again.

Thank you.

Went to Whitwell Hall!!! 🙂

It was so fun and included extremely exiting activities such as River Dipping, Boat Building and Lighting Fires. You could even explore, in your free time, the luscious forests which lead to the sheep-filled meadows. The food there is so delicious that it can satisfy any picky taste buds. For us they served lasagne, outside BBQ and even meatballs! There was even a TV room with Harry Potter, Jonny English and… Mr.Bean!!! We went to bed at 10:00pm and got to sleep with our friends! We really enjoyed our trip to Whitwell and would love to go again. Bye! 🙂
