Matilde’s Year 6 Ullswater trip 😊

My trip to Ullswater was super duper awesome! My favourite activity was Gorge Walking (which is climbing a waterfall). We didn’t like that lunch was the same every day. Sandwich, fruit, crisps and a small dessert  😅. I got to sleep in a dorm room with my friends tough, so that’s good 😀 .

You have fun and learn lots as well, so that’s good. You also have free time, so you can play with your friends – a particularly good game was sock monster! There was also a HUGE game of Manhun, which was really fun as well!

ULLSWATER BLOG by Ferdie.M

Ullswater – that trip was astonishing, we had 5 days of fun activities; at the afternoon we would have hot chocolate and when I drank it it was like a taste party in my mouth but on fire.  The first thing we did was a quick tour and then bed and I couldn’t wait for tomorrow.

The first thing we did was we went in our pods and they told us what we were going to do and you won’t believe it – we were gorge walking and that means CLIMBING A WATERFALL!!!. And it was fun there was a lot of team work but that was ok.

Maybe if you can you will visit Ullswater to but trust me you will have the time of your LIFE.

Trip to Ullswater (By Faith)

The thing I loved most was gorge climbing.  Although the water was freezing cold, it really boosted my confidence and now I’m less scared of the things around me.  Unfortunately, we got there late, but we were still able to play a few games.  The thing that stretched me nearly into my panic zone was the mountain climb, but when I got to the top I felt really proud of myself to be able to do it.  Another thing I loved was Orienteering because our team of 3 won and we found 8 stamps. The thing that made me happy was the last school only got 5 and they were Year 8.

The kitchens are really nice to people with a restricted diet or an allergy.  Also, the staff really care about the people who get hurt.  They know what to do in every situation that could possibly happen.

The Amazing Ullswater Trip By Jude and Josh

My impression of the Outward Bound Centre in Ullswater was incredible.

One of my favourite activities was the jog and dip. I was even able to jump off the jetty and go in the six degrees cold water. Brrrrrr!

Another fun activity was the gorge-walk where you walk up a mountain, it’s very cold; you need some good team work. We learnt two positions: the Roman handshake where you grab wrists to provide more grip and strength; and spotting, where you stand in a certain position and hold onto someone’s waist. The views are stunning and the mountain range takes your breath away. How would you find this brilliant trip?

Thanks for reading,

Jude and Josh

The Amazing Ullswater trip !!! by Kuba and Joel

Mine and my friend’s favourite activity was gorge-walking. We go climbing mini water-falls. The whole trip was a good experience but this activity was the most fun.

The food there was also very good.  My favourite meal was the Pizza and my friend’s was Pizza too , although the breakfast was epic too! Hot chocolate was nice I got to drink it on the mountains.

The mountains there were very nice to look at, the view was unimaginable.  To get there, we had to go on a boat.  The experience was one I’ve never experienced before.

The last activity was the campfire. You get to eat marshmallows (it was EPIC) .Would you like to come? 🙂

BYE!!!

A Fantastic Ullswater Residential Trip. By Lola

We had a great trip and we loved every last second of it but there were a few memories that we will remember for a life time. Just like the power cuts and a fire drill (I had no socks on in the fire alarm when we went outside!) and much better memories of sleeping with my best friends and eating the delicious food every day.

The most enjoyable parts of the trip were the activities; gorge walking on the mountain, orienteering in the woods when it was dark; making stories about stars in the night sky and our ultimate favourite…. THE CAMPFIRE!   We roasted marshmallows and sung some songs.

The journeys there and back were a blast! We still talk about the things we did on the bus until this present day that we are writing this post.

If you’re reading this and you are in a lower year of the school, I guarantee you you’ll have a great time and on the last day of your trip at Ullswater you might even be able to buy some of their Outward Bound merchandise. They sold things from tooth brushes, to beanies, to water bottles and more.

Overall we have to agree that this was the best trip we have over gone on. If you try your best and go beyond your limits you can achieve absolutely anything just put your mind to it.

Clarice and Clara’s Ullswater Experience

When we arrived at the long awaited ‘Outward bounds’ centre, we received a well- deserved warm welcome from the staff and instructors working there. We were kindly guided to our dormitories, in which we were allowed time to unpack and settle in.

A while later, we were greeted by a mouth- watering meal, and a creamy strawberry mousse! As it was quite late when we had arrived, we didn’t do any exhausting activities (for our own convenience).

We both enjoyed the canoeing – where our imagination ran wild, racing against the other team, or ‘Royal Fleet’; we both took great pleasure in the den building, (which consisted of using both natural and man- made substances to construct a well-built den); and finally, we mention the campfire, which we relished on our last full day spent in the well- equipped centre.

If you wisely choose to visit this incredible place in the future, we strongly advise you savour every moment- as you will be back from the journey before you know it!
