Whittwell Hall! By Maya and Sana

on October 17, 2021

One of our favourite parts about our trip to Whitwell Hall was the Bat walk because we saw lots of cool bats especially the common pipistrelle! They’re the size of a thumb! And can eat up to 3,000 little insects in one day. It was very hard to find bats as they are scared of the light of the torches. We really liked the trackers that we were given the trackers showed the sound of the bats wings and the sound there voice.

Another one of our favourite activities was the Nature Walk because we made a really nice woodland out of stones, leaves, weeds, twigs and moss.   We made a Fairy garden.  There was a lake and a bridge made out of twigs.

We both liked river dipping because we both found really cool creatures in the River Blackwater such as: cray fish, different types of fish, mini water stick insects and  lots of other creatures in the river.   We liked it a lot because we got to go into the river with the net!

Thank you to John, Kathy, Steve and Matt for taking good care of us at Whitwell Hall.   It would not have been an amazing time without you all!
